Wallop Reloaded Video by Lewis Wilby

MBS Pro Team Rider Lewis Wilby was at Middle Wallop airbase a couple of weeks ago for the second Wallop Reloaded event. This is the rebirth of the famous land kite event that went on here for years before fizzling out and taking a bit of a hiatus. Lewis was out riding for hours each day showing off his massive repertoire of tricks and mixing it up between new school and old school moves. The BKSA land kite competition brought in some of the countries top riders as well as some international riders (including MBS Pro Team rider Yusca Balogh).

This edit was put together by Lewis himself.

All MBS at Gold Rider

Maths kid Matt Brind, surf punk Josh Maddocks, general badass Ben Rye and Photographer Theo Acworth decided they would go and see what was up with the French riding scene over the weekend. Matt rode in the Gold Rider contest at the AMC (Association de Mountainboard de Compiègne) in 2010 and had a pretty sweet time, so he wanted to go along this year too.

They met up with the French MBS Team and managed to get a lot of podium positions between them.

Boardercross – 1st Place: Victor Szyjan, 2nd: Diego Anderson, 3rd: Simon Lefebvre, 4th: Matt Brind
Freestyle – 1st: Matt Brind, 2nd: Victor Szyjan, 3rd: Josh Maddocks

Check out Theo’s video:

Tom Kirkman goes to see Dan Wilson

Dan is a great guy – he did the amazing design for the Pro 100 Tom Kirkman signature board, and also the new MBS helmet range. As well as being a great artist, Dan is a mountainboarder. He spends a lot of time thinking about mountainboarding and drawing and writing, and publishes some of it on his site Remolition. He doesnt just think and draw though, he rides too. This is a video about freeriding riding Dan’s local spots.

Matt Brind and Theo Acworth visit Out To Grass

Continuing on the ATBA inspection tour and this time stopping to do some building and grooming, Matt and Theo are at Out To Grass, known to many simply at OTG. This centre is famous for its red soil (dont wear white socks!) and will also be hosting the third round of the 2011 ATBA series on 16-17th July.

Look at all those rollers!

Matt Brind and Theo Acworth Visit Hales Superbole

Brindy is a busy young man juggling studies, winning mountainboard competitions, mountainboard demos and now also – helping to run the ATBA and organising the UK competition scene. As part of his ATBA duties he has been doing site visits to various mountainboard centres. Theo Acworth (no k in his surname!) came along (presumably had nothing better to do) did some riding and took some shots (see more on the 2011 MBS poster!).

Hales Superbole will be hosting Round 1 of the ATBA competitions this year on 21-22nd May.

Here is the edit Theo made for Hale Superbole!

Haredown Training Camp Videos

Both Sam Sutterlin and ATC Productions have now released their edits from the Pro Training Camp event held at Haredown Mountainboarding Centre a few weeks ago. The event went really well and was blessed with glorious sunshine and epic sunset sessions.

The riders include Tom Kirkman, Mick Kirkman, Tuai Lovejoy, Matt Brind and Jamie Johnstone. Rhys Crilley is on the mic.

Tom Kirkman training camp at Haredown

The Easter weekend saw the first of Tom’s training camps for 2011. The event was held at Haredown were a gang of mini shredders were signed up to learn how to take their freestyle to the next level. The video was put together by Ben Rye of Project Doc – many thanks.

MBS Mountainboards Commercial

Here is a lil mountainboarding promotional video put together by One5 Media. It features mostly US riders although there are some bits from Europe last summer when Justin Dersham was over here filming and riding with the pro team.

MBS Team Rider AJ Philipsen in Blackberry Ad

AJ flew over to Chile last month to film a TV ad for german television. They wanted to use some landboarding footage to show off the new Blackberry Torch. You can see the final ad on Youtube now. AJ is of course riding an MBS Pro 90.
