We sent a bunch of Atom Retroh boards down to Tom Kirkman and co in Cornwall and this is what they sent us back. The Atom Retroh is the plastic moulded 70s style mini skateboard.

2010/11 Boardercross Racing Highlights from the ATBA UK Championships

Harry Jessop has put together this video which really shows what racing is like. Racing has always been and probably always will be one of the more popular disciplines when it comes to mountainboarding. In terms of competition entries there are regularly more than twice as many people racing than in the freestyle. There are many important elements to being a great racer. The start is important – if your not out front early on then you have to work a lot harder, but it can sometimes pay off. The start is a massive burst of energy. It is almost always followed by a roller section. This is where the technique really comes into it. A great racer can build a lot of speed on rollers, where as a bad racer will lose speed.

The turns are the most tactical part. You want the fastest line but at the same time, you need to stay out of the melee. If a rider goes down you need to be able to get around him and not just pile into him, slowing yourself down. Despite all the technique, and fitness, luck is still a major factor. On race day it is all about not making mistakes.

Tom and Mick ride Moscow Skate Park

Last February Tom and Mick Kirkman headed out to Moscow where they hold a massive mountainboard exhibition in an arena. In their downtime they get to live it up and hit some cool spots around town. One of which was this epic mini ramp. These indoor ramps are great places to ride in the winter when the weather is a bit grim.

Kirkman Brothers in Winter Training

Sam Sutterlin has released a video from his time spent in Cornwall chez Tom and Mick. One day they went down to Mt Hawke skate park for some intense winter training. It is important to keep riding and practicing even when the weather is not so good if you want to be the best. Mt Hawke need to sort their lighting out in there, not great for filming.

Green as Grass – landboarding documentary

Green as Grass is a documentary supported by Flysurfer about pro kitelandboarders and Flysurfer (and MBS!) teamriders Yusca Balogh and Lennart van Schuilenburg explaining what drives them in Kitelandboarding and why they love to kite on the land.

The story tells about their vision on the sport and their trip along the westcoast of France and England visiting and enjoying some of the best kitesurf and kitelandboarding locations western Europe has to offer, paired with the new Flysurfer Unity, Speed3 Deluxe Limited and their MBS Pro 90 Mountainboards!

MBS EUROPE SUMMER 2011 ROAD TRIP

Tom Kirkman, Mick Kirkman, Tuai Lovejoy, Joe Dickson + friends including but not limited to Ben Rye, Dylan Warren, Andy Milenkovic, Theo Acworth, Rory Mundell-Perkins, Josh Maddocks and Armin Tigges. They travelled from the UK to France, Germany and Belgium and showed mountainboarding at its best. Everyone’s footage was pooled and the video was cut by Tom Kirkman.

It is a 20 minute epic so be sure to get a cuppa and a biscuit for this one.

New MBS Pro 95 Promo Video

A quick overlook of the new 2012 MBS Pro 95 – Retaliation. Joe Dickson took the first board in down to Bugsboarding for a test ride. The footage really shows off the new graphic by Dan Wilson. Kudos to Joe for doing the big drop at Bugs with the GoPro in his hand and keeping it focused and pointing at the board.

The MBS Pro 95 features a Reverse Cap Composite deck, Matrix Pro trucks, Rockstar Pro hubs, T3 tyres and F4 Pro bindings.
