Registered riders so far
Last years World Freestyle Champ Renny Myles has been out on a snowboard season going big and has already registered for the Battle. He’ll be looking to hold on to his 2009 title but theres bound to be some stiff competition from some familiar faces…
Rumours abound that the 2004 World Freestyle and Mountainboard legend Leon Robbins from Edison, USA will be joining us for yet another competition out here on the other side of the pond and is planning on laying down the gauntlet for the younger riders.
2005 World Champ Tom Kirkman will also be making an appearance after a year off due to injury. Tom is now back on form with amazing determination, new tricks and bags of style and is set to throw down after recent performances in Belgium and Germany.
2008 British Champion and Bugs local rider, Joe Dickson will be there too. There’s no one more hungry than Joe to get his hands on the title and with a winning run of back to back 720s at the first round of the UK Nationals, it’s looking like Joe won’t be leaving without a fight.
There are also entries from Marcin Skubisz – Poland , Diego Anderson – France and Ryan Slater from Australia.
All of the MBS Pro Freestyle team have entered as well, so expect to see them gunning it out for the top spot, with massive tricks from the likes of Oli Morrison, Tuai Lovejoy and Tom Read.
Many more top riders have already registered and no doubt more will in the next few weeks on the run up to the event.
A revamped and fully groomed freestyle is awaiting with 4 major hits to score the points including a 20ft box , step down jump or 14ft drop off to start , then into a fast 28ft table into a choice of three lips – one hip , one 35ft straight, one 40ft straight over the last table with a big quarter pipe to finish in style.
Judges
Joining head judge Alex Downie will be French Rider and 2007 judge Alexis Rouge and 2007 U18 World champ Steve Cownie.
Filming
The event will be filmed by Jack Johnston and team from the BFC for coverage on Extreme TV. Jack has filmed and put together some great footage for the BFC and other projects so look out for his coverage out soon after the event.
ATB Junkies will also be there with many more of mountainboardings great filmmakers also attending to capture the action.
Photography
Legendary mountainboard photographer Paul Taylor will be there for the best shots in history, accompanied by many other talented photographers including the likes of Crillpix and Remolition.

On Saturday evening there will be some chilled vibes and good music with a small line up through to late in the evening.
