Lewis Wilby wins German Kite Landboard Masters

Last weekend we drove out to Germany for one of the biggest kite landboard competitions in recent years. Lewis was the clear favourite but you can never be too sure at these events. Everyone was excited to see riders turn up from other countries to strut their stuff. Lewis has done a full write up of the event. Read it here: Lewis Wilby – German KLB Masters.

ATBA The Edge 09 Video

Pete Hills has finally decided to do something with the mountainboarding footage he got at last years ATBA competition at The Edge. The video shows an on form MBS team with Brindy, Joe and Tom Read battling it out for the top spot. Jamie J and Renny are also in there. It just shows how high the level can be in competition and how hard the riders push each other to go bigger and more technical. Great riding.

Old school 2004 riding from Morzine and Cortina

Rhys has just uploaded this video of some of his old footage. The video shows the likes of Tom Kirkman, Alex Downie and Ollie Morrison riding demos in Morzine, France and Cortina, Italy. There is loads of freeride footage too. The video includes on of Tom’s early 720 attempts.

Kite Fest 2010 at Airbossworld this weekend 29-30th August

We will be heading down to Airbossworld this weekend to fly some kites and demo some boards. This is your chance to come and try out the latest from the MBS range.

The Airfield is Airboss’ own private inland flying site. There is loads of space for everyone and there will be demo kites from a bunch of different brands.

Ledbury Woods Session

Centre riding is all good and dandy but from time to time it is great to go au natural and just ride terrain. Ledbury woods has been ridden many times over the years as it offers a great variety of riding. Those who are not into freestyle would have a great time there as would more intermediate level riders. Enjoy the video – it is mountainboarding at its best.

World Freestyle Championships postponed to 2nd October

After solid rain all Friday night and Saturday morning there was no option but to postpone the event till Sunday. Unfortunately the Sunday morning sun was not really there to dry up the course. Efforts were made to bed in the jumps but the mud just stuck to the truck and quad wheels. After a quick discussion the decision was made to cancel the event and rerun the competition before the mountainboarding film festival at Bugsboarding on the 2nd Octoberr.

On the upside a World Freestyle Powerslide Competition OF THE WORLD 2010 was held. This is an event which will probably run only once every 10 years or so. The rulebook is extensive and the judges demanding.

Tom Kirkman mountainboarding in Moscow

Tom went to Russia earlier this year. There he spent a day with a couple of local riders at Victory Park in the centre of Moscow just messing about mountainboarding on the street features. It is nothing big, but a lot of small technical moves and some good balance.

Cream Teas and Jam Round 2 Video

Cream Teas and Jam – the awesome jib style rider judged jam event series ran by the BFC came to Bugsboarding for Round 2. They held a jam on various features around the centre then the riders judged each other and gave points for the tricks they liked. MBS Pro Rider Joe Dickson was on form again and won the event. Renny Myles made an appearance showing everyone he still knows how to ride a mountainboard and can bust out moves if he so desires.
