Back in July we wrote about the Mountainboarding demo at the Eden Project that was organised by Tom Kirkman and co. Now we have a video of the day too. It just shows how versatile mountainboarding is and how easily we can do demos practically anywhere. The riders involved were Tom Kirkman, Mick Kirkman, Matt Brind and Jamie Johnstone.
Many moons ago (earlier this year) we did three days of demos at the Silverstone race track at the Mini United event. It was a great event and we had never seen so many minis. The crowd loved it and the riders put in some great performances. We took some amazing photos that day which we have used loads but finally we have a video thanks to ATC Productions to show some of the action too.
As winter sets in and fields get increasingly muddy one option is to move to the skate parks. Not all indoor skate parks will allow mountainboards but many will. The public skateparks will obviously be no problem. This video by Tom Kirkman features him and Ollie Morrison enjoying a rainy day busting out some moves at a skate park.
We have over the years been involved with loads of different mountainboard centres. Some are bigger than others, and get to host lots of events and we hear a lot more about them. There are some really good centres which do not get as much attention. One of these is Surf the Turf. They are based up in the Lake District, which as everyone knows is a beautiful area of the country and very hilly. John Garfitt has just published a nice report with some pictures courtesy of Paul Crilley on Remolition from his recent trip up there called: Surfing some lakeland turf.
The MBS Team also took a trip up there earlier this year and shot this video:
Lewis has run his own Lewis Wilby dot com website for a couple of years now. He has kept all his media information updated and a bunch of cool pictures and videos. He has just done a big update getting loads of videos of him from over the last few years together. The videos range from the early Blade and Sabre days to the more recent videos by KiteFreeStyle and PushKiting.
Last week Mick Kirkman gave us a video tutorial on doing super cool laid out backflips in the quarter pipe. Now Tom Read has shared his tips for doing his signature huge front flips. When we do demos all over the country with the MBS Pro Ramp this trick is always a crowd pleaser. Tom is also famous for his super smooth style and how easy he makes everything look.
Winterberg is one of those centres we are really proud of. They came into the sport fairly recently with a lot of enthusiasm and determination. They thought big and made an amazing centre with a world class boardercross track. Over the last year or so it has developed and now also features world class freestyle features and jumps. This summer the MBS crew were out in Europe a number of times and whenever they could pop by Winterberg they would. This video shows some of what they got up to.
Thats right people. You heard it right. After months of struggling to keep these in stock for more than 2 minutes we have had another delivery and cleared all the back orders. If yours are looking shoddy now is the time to upgrade. The heelstraps themselves have been tweaked slightly to include thicker padding (very marginally) and a couple of other minor tweaks. They are essentially still the wicked heelstrap that everyone knows and loves.
It is all in the title really – but simply put, this little trick tip video from ATC Productions features Mick Kirkman showing off his mad skills and teaching us all how to do a super stylish laid out backflip in a quarter pipe. The laid out backflip is a classic mountainboard trick and one that always wins over a crowd – in the quarter it is a lot more technical though.
The day after our last demo at Xperience 09 festival some of the team headed down to Bugsboarding Mountainboard Centre. There they had a play on some of the jumps, helped out teaching kids and had an epic session on the mini ramp. Luckily the camera was recording and Tom Kirkman has put together a little video meaning you can now have the pleasure of watching some of the highlights.
