Last weekend the MBS Pro Ramp team headed up to Tynemouth for the Xperience Festival. It was the furthest north the ramp has ever been and being the end of October the forecast was not ideal. The ground was really wet and rain was forecast. We just about managed to get set up. After the first demo on Saturday the rain kicked in and demos had to stop. We ran the hire and ride for a few hours in torrential downpour. The kids loved it.
On Sunday the weather was pretty good – or at least not wet. We did 4 demos getting some great crowds who made loads of noise. The hire and ride ran between the demos and again the kids were really up for it. We gave over 100 kids quick taster lessons. Teaching is loads of fun, as the kids totally love it and didnt care about the mud. We had a hectic day trying to make up for not being able to do much on the Saturday. All in all the event worked out really well and we hope it will be back next year!
Check out the video of some of the action from ATC Productions:
Tom Kirkman has just uploaded a little video of him riding at Bugsboarding last weekend. This was on the Sunday after the ATB Junkies mountainboarding film festival. The festival itself went down really well. The staff at Bugsboarding had made a really nice film area and there were some great mountainboard films submitted!
You can see why Tom Kirkman is the World Freestyle Champion.
Last weekend at Redcar, Teeside, the final round of the BKSA ran land based kiting championships was held. MBS Pro Team rider Lewis Wilby came first overall. Another MBS rider AJ Philipsen came second. Unfortunately there was no wind on Thursday, Friday or Saturday so the comp could not be run. Results were made from previous rounds. Saturday night saw everyone don their formal/smart casual gear to attend the end of year prize giving presentation. The buffet included some interesting concoctions such as a glow in the dark mint chicken. The trophies were all handed out and the party got underway and went on late.
The wind finally blew on Sunday letting the riders strut their stuff. It just kept picking up allowing the riders to show off a whole range of tricks.
Another fun video from Tom Kirkman this time showing him and the boys at the second round of the Cream Teas and Jam series at Wanyi Park in Belgium. Wanyi has a wicked set up and is packed full of obstacles. There is so much variation you wont know what to hit first, making it the perfect venue for a fun expression session type event like the Cream Teas series. A boarder cross track and lift complete the centre making it one of our favourite centres in the world! It is a must visit! Watch the video and see for yourself!
We often get people asking for cheap mountainboards. It is not really our specialty – we always try and make the best mountainboards. We spend countless hours on research and development, then even more on testing. Our team has to be happy with our products and we have to be comfortable they are ready to take to market. Sometimes we do have some cheap mountainboards on offer though. These can be found in our Garage Sale section. Right now you can find a 2008 Core 90 for only £175 – a 25% reduction. Remember though, in the long term you will be much happier if you buy the right board for your size and what you want to do with it!
